He walked right past, never seeing her. Oblivious to how she felt. She gazed after him, longing for him to notice her. But he didn't. And he wouldn't. After all, who would notice her? She was nobody. The dirt beneath the world's feet.
She grabbed her books and bag, ready to go home. She was used to being ignored by now. No one cared enough to truly get to know her. It takes too much effort. Too much of their time. She walked down the stairs, tripping on the bottom step, her books spilling everywhere as she fell. And everyone just kept walking by. No one stopped to help her or ask if she was okay. She wasn't worth it.
She gathered up her books, and wondered why she bothered caring. Why did she keep hoping someone would be different? That someone would care? She was nothing.

Invisible

Do you ever feel invisible? Do you ever feel like someone may be looking at you, but not really seeing you? Maybe they're oblivious, maybe they just don't care.
Have you ever felt on the outside looking in? That you just don't belong. You don't fit the mold. You can't break in to the inner circle. Have you ever felt that no one cares enough to really get to know you? Have you ever wanted the kind of friendship where they would listen to everything about you, and love you just the same, and you would do the same for them?
Have you ever felt inadequate? That you're not good enough. Cool enough. Popular enough. That you're not pretty enough. That you're not worth the time it takes to get to know you.
Have you ever felt lost in a sea of faces? Not worth it? Ordinary. Average.
     Do you ever feel...alone?
